Portuguese Milk Tarts

Ingredients

3 ¾ cups of Maxigenes Full Cream Milk Powder, premade

2 cups sugar + 2 Tbsp separated

1 cup plain flour

4 eggs, beaten

½ cup butter, melted

1 Tbsp cinnamon

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius. In a large bowl combine the 2 cups of sugar and plain flour.
  2. Whisk in eggs and then add melted butter, continue to whisk and then gradually add milk.
  3. Pour mixture into muffin tray, filling until ¾ full.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove the tarts while hot with a knife around the edges.
  6. Mix the 2 tablespoons of sugar and cinnamon together, sprinkle over the tarts.
  7. Best served warm, tarts can be made 1 day ahead.
