Quick & Creamy Tomato Pasta

1/2 cup of Maxigenes Skim Milk Powder, premade

300g spaghetti

2 Tbsp butter

3 garlic cloves, finely chopped

½ onion, finely chopped

¾ cup thickened cream

1 cup tomato passata

¾ cup parmesan, grated

1 Tsp dried basil

1 Tsp chicken or vegetable stock powder


  1. Cook pasta according to packet instructions, before draining, scoop out a cupful of pasta cooking water.
  2. Melt butter in a large pan over medium heat, add onion and garlic, cook until translucent.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and stir until the parmesan is melted.
  4. Let the sauce simmer for about 2 minutes and season.
  5. Add pasta and toss through, cooking for another few minutes or until sauce thickens.
  6. Use the reserved water if you need to thin the sauce out.
  7. Serve with more parmesan and parsley.
  8. Cooked prawns, chicken, mushrooms or capsicum are great additions to this dish.
